British Virgin Islands – Post Irma

In October of 2017 I was schedule for my 4th bareboat charter in the British Virgin Islands, however, that September Hurricane Irma ravaged the British Virgin Islands.  As the news and pictures emerged I remembered fearing that the BVI would never recover.  But 9 months later, as we disembarked after a week on a Sunsail 454, I knew the BVI would be back, better than ever.

The scars from the storm are still clearly visible everywhere – roofless buildings, limbless trees and sunken boats.  There are stories that will break your heart, and stories that will reveal the unbreakable human spirit.  The people of the BVI are strong, friendly and welcoming!

If you are thinking about taking a trip, stop thinking and book it.
